If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

I moved from BC to the Maritimes to do my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I found beautiful Nelson BC in my search to become an Art Therapist. I graduated from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute with over 900 hours of client work.

I was hired immediately out of School to Salmo Community Services as a Child and Youth Counsellor and soon to West Kootenay Boundary Addictions Services as Youth Treatment Specialist. During that time I had 2 beautiful children and started to focus more on my work in Family Counselling. I was a part of the development of Freedom Quest Youth Services and became the Youth Addictions Counsellor.

In 2006 I went back to pursue my Masters in Counselling from Gonzaga University. Since then I have been in Private Practice.

I have had in-depth training in: Brief Solution Focused Therapy; Addictions; Assessment; Suicide Intervention and Mental Health Issues; Traumatic Incidence; First Nations Healing Practices; Medicine Wheel; and various intervention strategies. I participate in ongoing confidential supervision.

I continue to grow, learn, and expand.
